Each year, our Community Outreach Committee works quietly and consistently behind the scenes to make sure no one in our Stuttgart military community feels unseen, unsupported, or alone.

What We Do

Our outreach efforts span the full range of military family life — from welcoming new babies through our Baby Expo to honoring the people who serve and support our community every day. We partner with installations, schools, agencies, and organizations across the Stuttgart footprint to deliver resources, recognition, and real impact where it's needed most.

Why “Outreach”? In 2025, SCSC voted to rename this committee from Community Enhancement to Community Outreach. Enhancement described funding improvements in the community. Outreach describes what we do today: we look ahead for community needs, recommend where SCSC resources should go, manage gifts in kind, and partner with other organizations so their events reach more people.

Educator Appreciation · Just Delivered

Chips & Sips for Teachers

Our members filled their carts and their trunks, and our outreach volunteers stocked the staff lounges at all five Stuttgart DoWEA schools. Every delivery came with a handmade thank-you banner for the school.

The haul: 434 bags of chips, 328 drinks, and stacks of granola bars, crackers, and sweet-and-salty snacks, all donated by SCSC members.

Summer Giveaway

Emergency Car Kits

Driving in Germany comes with its own packing list. This summer we stocked community baskets with roadside essentials and kept them filled, free for military families to take what they needed.

That's 136 items provided directly to our community.

In 2025–2026, we showed up in a big way.

Rapid Response

When the government shut down, we mobilized.

Military families and the people who serve them felt the shutdown right away, and our response was just as fast. Volunteers stepped up, our committee grew, and within days we were delivering.

Shutdown Response · Educators

Rapid Response Meal Program

When our teachers needed a morale boost, we delivered — literally. In under five days, we coordinated meal distribution to approximately 384 educators across five DoWEA schools. This kind of rapid-response care is what sets SCSC apart.

Launched Last Year

Hospital Wellness Bag Program

In partnership with the American Red Cross, USO, RSO and other private orgs and clubs, our volunteers sourced, assembled, and distributed thoughtfully assembled bags to patients and families at local medical facilities. It's a small gesture with a lasting impact — and one we're proud to continue.

Class of 2026

Graduation Gift Program

We honored our graduating military-connected students in the 5th-, 8th-, and 12th-grade classes with a $2,500 gift initiative coordinated across all PTAs — a meaningful recognition of the unique journey military kids take to reach this milestone.
