STRASBOURG, FRANCE REGION
Get ready for a special, all-day shopping excursion to France on Wednesday, Oct 16!
We’ll be visiting Le Grenier D’Olivier, also fondly known as “The French Warehouse". Packed with second hand, vintage, and antique goodies, their large selection ranges from dishes, home decor, and more, to furniture in finished condition or ready for a makeover.
Afterward, we'll head a few minutes away to the well-loved and large grocery store called Cora. In addition to delicious French pastries, wine, and groceries, you’ll find retail home goods as well.
This is a great opportunity for the group to gather for lunch at their cafeteria-style restaurant directly attached to the building.
Our last stop of the day is to the small and picturesque pottery town of Soufflenheim, France, just north of Strasbourg, and on our way back to Stuttgart. You will be delighted, if not a touch overwhelmed, by the vast amount of beautiful and colorful pottery available to choose from, with an emphasis on baking dishes and table ware.
A carpool discussion will be posted in our “SCSC Keep Calm & Shop On” Facebook group shortly after this event is open for registration. You’ll want to plan on a good two hour drive there, plus traffic, leaving by 7:00 AM for a 9:00-9:15 AM start. We’ll leave Soufflenheim around 3:00-3:30, with about 90 minutes left until we reach the Stuttgart area, traffic-pending.
The full day’s itinerary will be posted in the Facebook group the day prior to the event day, detailing the schedule, driving distances, parking options, etc.
Please contact Dianne prior if you’d like to request the bringing of a guest, so I can see if space allows after our members have had the opportunity to sign up first.
