SCSC is making a difference in our own community by Spreading the Love!

SCSC's Barracks Cheer Committee and countless other volunteers helped with another successful effort to show support to our single and unaccompanied personnel living on garrison.  We packaged and delivered goodie bags door to door throughout the garrison on February 6th.  The bags had handwritten notes and were filled with candy that the Stuttgart community had donated since November 1st.

The Barracks Cheer Committee was formed at the beginning of our fiscal year after the suggestion of our very wise SCSC president to do a holiday cookie drive to support our single troops.  We originally thought we had only a couple of barracks that we were reaching out to, but quickly learned that we have hundreds of single and unaccompanied personnel that reside on our garrison, spread-out over multiple barracks buildings, BOQ’s, and old apartments.

We started with the cookie drive in December.  The Valentine's Day goodie bag delivery was our second effort to support our troops.  Both were an incredible success! Now that we've expanded our reach (just a little), the SCSC Barracks Cheer Committee plans to do something special like this every quarter.   Additionally, we will rotate bases monthly and spread some barracks cheer even further by giving away some goodies, like gift cards, movie tickets, bowling passes, etc. to our single/unaccompanied personnel.

If you have ideas to share, we WELCOME them!  If you would like to get involved further, have something to donate, or just want to know more about the Barracks Cheer Committee, please contact us at

The SCSC Barracks Christmas Cheer Cookie Drive was a HUGE success! We needed 4100 cookies, and we received 5561 cookies! We could not have done it without the help of the entire Stuttgart community, and we offer a big THANK YOU to everyone who donated cookies and their time to spread Christmas joy to our single military members. Below are some pictures of volunteers getting the cookies ready for distribution.
Many cookie donations were not only tasty, but also beautiful!
The cookie drive volunteers are working hard.
So many cookie packages!
We surpassed our cookie collection goal by over 1000 cookies!
